Victory of the RCT at Ernest-Wallon 6 to 3!

The Craziest said that Toulouse was not unconquerable with many absent international players.
The "most reasonable" thought that Toulouse, even without its international players, is still Toulouse. A reference.

At the beginning, the RCT wasn't in the game with an inefficient foot play and an obvious lack of discipline. Insomuch M. Gauzere will give a yellow card to Felipe Contepomi at the 17th for a technical fault too many. And Toulouse will certainly be too greedy when, at the 23th, Jean Bouilhou made David Skrela play a penaltouch instead of trying the penalty.

Bad choices and clumsinesses were recurrent for the two teams during a dolful first period. Ftiz (1 penality and 1 dropkick) and Skrela (1 penalty and 1 drop) were not efficient with their attempts as Felipe Contepomi (2 penalties) on the other side.

So, at the break, the two teams came back to the locker room with a rare draw. Moreover, the RCT players lost Mafileo Kefu (29th) and Fotu Auelua (35th), both injured...

Back on the ground, Toulon was more enterprising a beautiful break-through from Christian Loamanu, stopped at 5" from the line.

Against all expectation, David Skrela opens the scoring at the 45th with a penalty (3 - 0).

At the 50th, Felipe Contepomi tries a dropkick which founds... the post. Skrela will also risk his 2nd dropkick  but will fail. Toulouse fans became angry.

Before the hour, the Argentine kicker brings back the scoring to a draw with a penalty.

Toulon gets the upper hand : The Forwards multiply "pick and go" and pound their feverish opponents. As PSA will emphasize at the end of the game, "for once, the bench of Toulouse was less efficient". The RCT's one will be more competitive with the entering of Laurent Emmanuelli and Jocelino Suta at the 60th. At the 65th, a new penalty for Toulon converted by Felipe Contepomi : 6 to 3 for the RCT.

The Reds defend well and the "Surgeon" would have been increasing the lead with a penalty at the 71st.

At the end, Guy Novès' players try to catch up with the scoring, notably through the interesting young fly-half Doussain, maybe introduced too late in the game to replace David Skrela, not really inspired.

The "Foreign Legion," criticized by a self-styled expert, managed to win in Toulouse. Certainly not the greatest match between the two teams but Toulon was physically invested in this game to hang on and win a victory which has been running away from the RCT since 17 years in Toulouse (with 3 tries from Cyril Schuwer).

With this 4th success outside, the lily of the valley Club may expect a hopeful end of season with 4 matches at home out of 6 contests...
